EXHIBIT E
Reclamation Plan
8 Mile Clay Mine
Upon completion of mining activities in the lease area, the high
wall will be graded to a gentle slope and stock piled top soil replaced.
The recontoured, resoiled surface will then be seeded at a rate of 80
seeds/sq.ft. with a seed comp osition approximating the prior existing
' natural vegetation in species diversity and percentage composition.
The result of the reclamation will be a grazing browse biota similar
'
to that existing in the area contiguous to the east of the site. In
' order to minimize erosion and siltation during reclamation, slopes
greater than 2:1 will be avoided where possible (see table 1).
' Based on field surveys of undisturbed portions of the lease area
adjacent to the mine, it is anticipated that a seeding mixture of 40%

Blue Grama,20% Legume species and 40% Wheatgrass species will be used.
' Other native grass species present on the site are not commercially
available as seed. Should data become available indicating edaphic
' conditions more appropriate for other species of native grasses, mod-
' ifications of species types and ratios in the seeding mixture may be
implemented.
Root-balled stock nursery tree species native to the rnine site
(see table 1) will be planted in approximate ratios that existed prior
' to mining at a rate of 50 seedlings/acre. Because of the altered soil
horizons and the resultant soil permeability, available ground water
will be significantly lower in the strata than prior to reclamation;
' consequently, a low percentage of the seedlings are expected to survive
to maturity.
