moderate. The surfaces of both soils are rated good as sources of topsoil, with <br />• underlying layers limited by high rock content. An average salvage depth for <br /> the mapping unit is 20 inches. <br />Winevada - Unnamed complex 25 to 65 percent slopes, X8F. This soil is <br />similar to mapping unit XSD except that it occurs on steep and .extremely steep <br />hillsides and ridges. Vegetation on this unit includes oakbrush, serviceberry, <br />snowberry, and chokecherry; and the capability class is VIIe. <br />Unnamed fine sandy loam, 12 to 25 percent slopes, 9E. This is a deep, <br />well-drained soil occurring on moderately to steeply sloping upland sideslopes. <br />Vegetation is commonly sagebrush, snowberry, serviceberry, chokecherry, and <br />scattered grasses, with a capability class of VIe. The Unnamed soil commonly <br />has a dark colored loam surface 1Ayer at least_16 i~rches~hi_cl~and light clay <br />loam and loam subsoil layers extending to hard sandstone at 55 inches. <br />• Permeability is moderate, available water-holding capacity is high, and both <br />surface and subsoil layers are rated as good sources of topsoil. <br />Cochetopa fine sandy loam, 25 to 65 percent slopes, 50F. This is a deep, <br />well-drained soil occurring on moderately to extremely steep valley sideslopes <br />and ridges. Vegetation is similar to the Mountain Shrubs type 1 with oakbrush, <br />snowberry, serviceberry, and scattered stands of aspen. Capability class is <br />Vlle, This soil commonly has a dark-colored fine sandy loam surface about 20 <br />inches thick underlain by stony clay and stony-clay loam subsoils extending to <br />60 inches or more. Permeability is slow and available water-holding capacity is <br />high, The surface layer is a good source of topsoil, and the subsoils are poor <br />sources of topsoil due to high clay contents. <br />• Skylick loam, 25 to 65 percent slopes, 66F. This is a deep, well-drained <br />soil occurring on moderately to extremely steeply sloping sideslopes. Vegeta- <br />- 113 - (Rev. 5/86) <br />
