An accurate assessment of water quality and groundwater resources
of the mine site and vicinity should be provided.
2. Tonnage of rock to be mined annually and estimated truck traffic
should be described in detail.
3. A realistic assessment of impacts to livestock and wildlife forage
should be given.
4. The mining plan be limited to a smaller azea such as the phase 1
area shown on the original mining plan.
5. Limit the number of terraces to one or two only
6. Limit the length of uninterrupted terraces (possibl_y 100-yards) and
provide ramps or other measures to allow movement of animals
(livestock) through the terraces. The original design created a
barrier for animal movement. The Colorado Division of Wildlife
should be consulted on this issue.
7. Accurately represent the existing soil and vegetation of the entire
site. Show on the mining plan all areas where existing soils and
vegetation will be disturbed and indicated the acreage of such
disturbance.
• • ~ ~,
RIO BLANCO COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENT J
