PRECIPITATION
Data presented in Exhibit K indicates that an average of 16-18
inches of precipitation is received each year.
The distribution of monthly precipitation demonstrates that the
precipitation throughout the year is fairly uniform, with the
winter season receiving slightly more (in the form of snow) than
the summer. June and July receive the least precipitation during
the year .
TEMPERATURE
Temperatures recorded on-site are shown in Exhibit K as monthly
mean averages (F°). The average recorded temperatures in July
and August were 68.0 and 67.0 F° respectively, while averages
• of 23.1 and 24.6 Fo were recorded in January and February,
respectively.
SOIL
As indicated in Exhibit I, the soils of the area are generally
well developed. Soil characteristics which relate to reclamation
are shown in that exhibit. Nutritive levels are good as is topsoil
quality. Salinity levels are low.
SLOPE STABILITY
The existing mountain slopes on the Dow West property are well
vegetated for the most part and thus quite stable from a water
erosion standpoint.

E-15
