It is found at <br />elevations of 6800 to 8800 feet in grassland cotttmunities with scattered shrubs and pinon-juniper. <br />This is a well drained soil with slow permeability. The subsoil consists of 50 <br />inches of silty clay loam, clay, and silty clay. The substratum is at least 5 inches thick consisting <br />of loam. Depth to bedrock exceeds 60 inches. j~ <br />Louviers-Sarcillo-Trag Complex, 3 to 25 percent slopes (map symbol PjE) / ) <br />This complex includes shallow to moderately deep soils which have developed in residuum on <br />mountain slopes. It is found at elevations of 6500 to 7800 feet in scrub oak and pinon-juniper <br />communities. These are well drained soils with slow to moderate permeability. The water erosion <br />hazard is high to very high while the wind erosion hazard is slight. <br />A typical profile includes a surface layer of 4 to 8 inches of loam or very channery clay loam. <br />Where present, the subsoil consists of 11 to 30 inches of clay loam, clay and/or sandy clay loam. <br />The substratum, where present, is 12 to at least 22 inches thick consisting of clay loam, clay, <br />and/or sandy clay loam.
