Section 816.71 (d) Continued.
• Anv surface runoff will be diverted so that it does not run onto
the fill and over the outslopes. This diversion design will be as
described under Sections 780.21 and 816.43 (f) and will direct all
water away from the fill and into sedimentation pond located at the
base of Pinnacle Peak. The locations of these permanent diversions
are shown on the Energy Mines No. 1 and 2 Hydrology (Map 13) and
Eckman Park Hydrology (Pfap 14) and their design is typified in
Figure 32, Permanent Diversion Structures.
(e) The tops of the fill and any terrace constructed to stabilize the
face shall be graded no steeper than 1v:20h (5 percent). The vertical
distance between terraces shall not exceed 50 feet.
The fill designs takes into consideration the desired drainage for
the tops and terraces. The grade will not be steeper than five
percent nor will the vertical distance between terraces be greater
• than fifty feet as shown in the design set forth in Exhibit 9,
Excess Spoil.
(f) Drainage shall not be directed over the outslope of the fill.
In order to maintain permanent stability of the fill and to prevent
erosion, drainage will not be directed over the outslope of the
fill.
(g) The outslope of the fill shall not exceed lv:2h (50 percent). The
regulatory authority may require a flatter slope.
The design for all three fills specifies the construction of 2.5:1
(horizontal to vertical) slopes with intermediate benches every 50
vertical feet. This configuration creates an overall effective
slope of approximately 3:1 (horizontal to vertical) or roughly 33
percent. Cross sections of the fills are included in Exhibit 9,
• f Excess Spoil.
816-98
