-zl-
D. SITE-SPECIFIC HYDROLOGY
1. Watersheds Impacted by hlining
tlorthern's mining operations may produce hydrologic impacts on at least
four watersheds (Figure 4 j. These include:
Watersheds 1-3
Curtis Creek
Because Curtis Creek is tributary to the White River it is conceivable that
very minor impacts on the flow of the 4lhite River could also occur.
2. Annual Water balance of Curtis Creek
Table 4 is the estimated potential water balance for the Curtis Creek
watershed. This balance was computed using procedures developed by Leaf
(1977a). A conservative estimate of generated runoff (including surface runoff,
ground-eater flow, and deep seepage) appears to be at least 1.9 inches in the
average year.
Tattle 4 - Estimated Potential Water Balance, Curtis Creek
Precipitation Evapotranspiration
Interval (inches) (inches)
Oct. 1 - Feb. 28 6.12 1.4
March 1 - June 30 5.50 4.7
Ju'y 1 - Sept. 30 4.51 8.1
7ota1 16.13 14.2
Average Annual Water Excess: 1.9 inches
