<br />Revision q I -Page 9 0(70 <br />Next, all topsoil area will be mulched with certified weed free mulch at a rate of I to I.5 tons per <br />acre. The topsoil and mulch will then be disked and prepared for seeding. <br />Seeding operations should be scheduled to occur in early April or August. Seeding will be <br />completed by drilling or broadcast method. If broadcast method is selected ,the seeding rates <br />shall be doubled, and the seed shall be incorporated into the soil with a harrow or morman creaser. <br />Seed used for reclamation shall consist of the following: <br />SPECIES PLS R4TFJACRE % OFMIX <br />Jose Tall Wheatgrass 25 70 <br />Alkali Sacaton I 10 <br />Western Wheatgrass l4 10 <br />Galleta 13 I 0 <br />Note: PLS rates listed shall be doubled if broadcast. <br />After the area has been planted, the area shall be fertilized at a rate of 200 lbs. per acre, with 21-0- <br />0 & 0-45-0, or as otherwise recommended by a soil test performed 6y the Soil Conservation <br />Service. <br />The operator need [o implement weed control practices, as required, to eliminate noxious weeds <br />Gom the permit area. <br />The site will not be irrigated, as suitable irrigation water sources aze not available at the site. <br />Pan26 <br />As discussed above, reclamation proposed for this site, vacant industriaUcommercial zoned land, <br />is appropriate for the site. The surrounding land uses are primarily industrial commercial uses. <br />The site has already been subdivided into five lots. <br />Par[ 2 c <br />3.1.1 Post-Mining Use <br />The post mining land use will be vacant industrial(commercial zoned land. <br />3.1.2 Reclaiming Substituted Land <br />There are no substitute lands proposed with this project. <br />3.1.3 Time Limit and Phased Reclamation <br />Mining at this site will be progressive. Backfill placement required for site <br />reclamation work will occur behind the sand and gravel highwall. Topsoil <br />placement, mulching, seeding, and fertilizing activities will be delayed until an <br />area of 10 acres or less in size is backfilled. Reclamation for the 10-acre area is <br />anticipated to requve two months to complete. <br />3.1.4 Public Use <br />The owner will not [o allow public use of the permit area for recreation <br />purposes. <br />3.1.5 Reclamation Measures-Material Handling <br />(1 J Reclamation grading for [his project will be performed in accordance with the <br />Exhibit F drawings included with this application.
