The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for
use by Mined Land Reclamation Board in their consideration of a
mining permit for:

Wildlife Species List: Pronghorn, coyote, badger, jackrabbit,
swift fox, kangaroo rat, meadowlark, prairie falcon, ferruginous
hawk, red-tail hawk.

Critical Habitats/Vegetative Communities Impacted: Site is
characterized as blue grams/buffalo grass shortgrass prairie with
very sandy soils throug which runs the Arickaree River, a dry wash,
with, in some instances, steeply eroded banks. There are no known
critical habitats or vegetative communities.
Assessment of Impact: Impacts to the wildlife resource should be
temporary and minimal if proper reclamation is achieved.
Nine Reclamation Recomendatioas (include key species/habitats for
which restoration is designed): To the extent practical, topsoil
should be stockpiled and seeded with a temporary seed mix if left
in place for longer than one growing season. The site should be
contoured to approximate pre-mining drainage and slopes to the
extent practical and reseeded with a warm season mix of grasses and
forbs native to the area to include those species currently found
at the site. The site should be fenced and livestock excluded
until such time as proper vegetative cover is achieved.
