The access/haulroad was surfaced with gravel to form a durable road surface. The gravel
• characteristics conform to the following specifications:
Screen Size Material Passing
1?/z inch 100%
linch 75-90%
3/8 inch 40-75%
No. 4 mesh 30-60%
No. 10 mesh 20-45%
No. 40 mesh 15-30%
*No. 200 mesh 5-15%
*The fraction passing the No. 200 mesh shall not be greater than two-thirds of the fraction
passing the No. 40 mesh.
Acid and/or toxic forming substances were not used in the road surfacing.
Vegetation was cleared for no more than the width needed for the roadway and drainage control.
A cross-section and centerline profile of the access/haulroad is shown on Map 30, Road Profiles
and Cross-Sections. Grade and pitch requirements were not exceeded in road design or
construction.
Embankment materials utilized conformed to applicable standards. No excess or unsuitable
material from excavations was encountered. No acid and toxic-forming materials were
• encountered during embankment construction. Construction activities of the access/haulroad
were conducted in accordance with the approved permit C-82-056. As-built P.E. certification for
this access/haulroad may be found in Exhibit 25, As-built Certifications of Access/Haulroad and
Haulroad.
Access/Haulroad Surfacing (MR 03-184)
Twentymile is planning on surfacing the existing access haulroad with a 4 or 5 inch asphalt matt.
The matt will be approximately 30 feet wide, except adjacent to the office building where it will
be up to 45 feet in width. Minor subgrade preparation be completed prior to placement to the
asphalt matt. Exhibit 48-3 contains a report addressing surfacing recommendations for the road.
H. Haulroad
A haulroad was constructed to connect the TCC haulroad with the CYCC haulroad B. The
location of the haulroad is shown on Map 24, Surface Facilities. The centerline road profile and
typical cross-section are shown on Map 30, Road Profiles and Cross sections.
Road design specifications are as described below and comply with Rule 4.03.1, Haul Roads. the
planned activity will not be conducted within 100 feet of a public right-of--way of any public road
and will not require relocation of a public road.
Drainage ditches have been constructed at the toe of all cut slopes formed by the construction of
the haulroad with relief cross drains spaced according to the grade. The road is crowned to
prevent ponding of water. Surface dips have been used in conjunction with the ditches to control
• erosion where required by Rule 4
MR 03-184 2.05-67 05/28/03
