The quality of cement produced <br />from the white limestones of the Fort Hays Member (Niobtaza Formation), rivaled by few <br />carbonate deposits in North America, was in part controlled by factors in place -88 <br />million yeazs ago, during the Late Cretaceous Period. <br />• 1991 <br />
