o'er
Creek, xould flox into Carbon Creek. The point the
_ • water may enter Carbon Creek would be approximately
2 miles upstream from the Carbon Creek and Ohio Creek
junction.
Any xater that may pass over the mine site
permdt area and enter a doxnstream water flow, would
enter Ohio Creek about 1 mine doxnstream from the
junction of Ohio Creek and Carbon Creek. From this
point it is about 15 miles to the Ohio Creek and
Gunnison P.iver junction. The Gunnison River then
flows into Rlue Mesa Reservoir about 15 neles down-
stream.
There are 2 ponds that are xithin the mile
radius of the mine. The first pond is just below
Mildred Staples house and is used as a stock pond
and to catch and store any springtime runoff. The
water is also used for~irrieation, but after the
spring run off there is little or no water floxing
• into the pond. There is a small spring that helps
feed this pond, but it is so small it has very
little effect on the pond.
The second pond is on doxnstream from the
first pond in the same valley. This pond arso is ,
used for irrigation and stock water. The only time
water enters the pond is after a rain or in the
spring time.
There is a irrigation ditch to the south-
west of the permit area. The ditch gets it's water
from Carbon Creek, and is used approximately 4
months a year.
There are no streams, springs, or ditches
that produce or flow water within 1 mile of the
permit area. The only exception to this may be the
tvu Mine adit.
_.• (b)There are two U.S.G. S, recording stations on the
Ohio Creek arainage. One is located at the old toxn
- of ?aldwin, with a drainage of 4T,2 sq;:are miles.
The lower one is approximately $.5 doxr.stream with
-S-
