flow (1977), reproductive success was very poor (Holden, 1977). In more
normal and high flow years, reproductive success is good (Holden and
Crist, 1978; Holden and Selby, 1979). Therefore, if flows are reduced
in the White or Yampa Rivers beyond a point that is as yet undetermined,
the best remaining naturally reproducing population of Colorado
aquawfish could be seriously impacted. It should be stressed again that
this impact could be caused by the cumulative effect of a number of
small withdrawals from the White River, and other large tributaries, of
which the subject withdrawal is only one.
Therefore, it is concluded that the present mining plan will not impact
Colorado squawfish or other aquatic life in the White or Green Rivers by
itself, but may contribute to a cumulative or incremental impact that
could eeriously influence these aquatic ecosystems.
w a • w ~

II.G-33
