• •
Mr. Garry Miller - 2 - March 14, 1985
Marathon may not know precisely where seven 0.5 acre pits and 5 drill sites
are to be located, but does know that these seven pits and drill sites will
all be located within a forty acre area. Marathon could permit the entire
forty acre area indicating the amount of disturbance, roads included, is to be
just less than 5 acres. Financial warranty would only need to be posted on
the 5 acres. If necessary, Marathon could permit more than one of these
larger areas. An amendment would have to meet the basic requirements of CMLRB
Rule 2. In the event that additional pits or disturbance, within the permitted
area, are necessary in the future then only a technical revision and
additional financial warranty would need to be submitted. However, if
additional pits are planned outside of the permitted area, an amendment would
need to be submitted.
Please advise us as to how you think we should proceed on this matter If
you want to pursue an amendment, then it would not be necessary to present
this issue to the Board this month. If you feel a Board presentation is
warranted, then we will each need to prepare a one page position summary for
distribution to the Board by March 18, 1985. If you or your representative
would like to meet to discuss this further or if you have any questions or
comments ,please contact me.
SincerelY.
9(
Philip C.
