Coulson Excavating Co.,
Inc. has been mining the property for the last several years and has just recently
reclaimed the land or is in the process of reclaiming it. This letter is of concern that the
land is not properly being reclaimed as to his agreement with the reclamation division. It
would be of great help to us if you would re-inspect the land in Weld County. The name
has been change to Lakota Lakes Ranch, LLC and I believe your division has a file
regazding this matter.
Coulson Excavating began reclaiming the site this passed yeaz. Grass was planted, but
due to the uneven moisture and poor soil condition, grass has been overtaken by weeds.
The pond on the Southwest comer of the property was overlooked and no grass was ever
planted.
After speaking with several people, I believe there is a 3:1 slope ratio that is made azound
the lakes that were formerly for excavation. Our banks do not have that ratio and look
very steep. The ground, in addition is very uneven and loosely packed. This could be
dangerous. Also, in June when there was several rainstorms, erosion occurred on the
West side of the lazge lake. Coulson said that they would fix it, but nothing has been
done and we are coming up quickly to fall and winter months. Where the first pond is,
the ground is also very uneven.
There were also many old cottonwood trees that were taken out and to my knowledge
were suppose to be replaced and again none of that has happened. Coulson is trying to
reclaim this land in October of 2005 and yet nothing has been completed as promised. I
ask again and would greatly appreciate it if you would come out and re-inspect the land
to make sure everything has been completed and the proper things have been done to the
land. I spoke with Greg on September 27, 2005 and he told me that Erika Crosby was the
first inspector of this property.
I hope that this letter will move things along.
