Lamm
Gavemor
August 8, 1984
Mr. Bruce Humphries
Trapper Mining Inc.
P.O. Box 187
Craig, Colorado 81626
RE: Overburden Swell Factor Analysis
Dear Mr. Humphries:
We are attempting to complete our review of your overburden swell factor
analysis submitted February 2, 1984.
Thus far we concur that the assumed 25% swell factor is appropriate.
Therefore, we are deleting the requirement for the annual swell factor
analysis from your current permit. The requirement for the annual submittal
of a post-mining topographic contour map for regraded areas will remain in
affect.
Our review of the post-mining contour map which you submitted indicates that
the projected and actual post-mining contours correlate well and that Trapper
Mining, Inc. is achieving the approved character of the post-mining
topographic configuration for the mined areas. However, to complete our
review we need a pre-mining topographic contour map at the same scale and of
the same area as the post-mining contour map submitted February 1, 1984. Maps
currently in the permit which might lend themselves to this use are too dark
and of such poor resolution that they cannot be used.
Please feel free to call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
i
Susan Mowry
Reclamation Specialis
SM/th
Doc.
