Arizona 86001
(602) 77a~5253
In April, 1989 personnel inspected reclaimed areas to
identify excessive rills and gullies on locations that may
potentially develop excessive rills and gullies. The
results of this inspection are shown on the enclosed
aerial photograph.
None of the identified rills are severe or excessive.
Their formation is a result of either slightly steep
slopes, minor concentrated flow, or knickpoints (see
attached Table 1). We believe each of these locations can
be stabilized by regrading and reseeding the location or
by reseeding alone. The work will be completed in 1989.
The stabilization activities performed in 1988 on the
rills and gullies identified in the 1988 report appear to
have been successful. The rills that were to be monitored
have not degraded and no rework activity is planned.
Peabody will proceed with the above plan and schedule.
