Mr.
Berger had contacted our offices earlier this year to ask for names of mining companies in
Colorado he could visit.
Mr. Berger informed me a few days ago that he was very impressed not only with your
company's vast, yet well-organized, operations, but also the friendliness and helpfulness of
Colowyo's employees in conducting the tour and answering his questions.
Public relations efforts by coal mining operations such as your tours provide outstanding
educational opportunities for the public. They serve as an invaluable resource in bridging the gap
between the perceptions and the realities of surface coal mining and reclamation in Colorado.
Conducting your company's operations in a manner that allows these outreach efforts to occur,
and fostering an attitude of hospitality and congeniality in Colowyo's employees, is highly
commendable and very much appreciated.
Sincerely,
LN ` /~~ ~~
Daniel I.
