INTRODUCTION <br />This document is the decision package prepared by the Colorado Division of Minerals and <br />Geology (the Division) for the Hayden Gulch I.oadout (the HG Loadout). The HG <br />Loadout was purchased by Hayden Gulch Terminal, Inc. (HGTI), which is a subsidiary of <br />Peabody Coal Company, from HG Coal Company, where it was part of the permit for the <br />Hayden Gulch Mine (C-80-003). This document, representing the original findings <br />document for the HG Loadout, includes: <br />1) the proposed decision to approve with stipulations the permit application <br />2) a summary which includes: <br />a) a history of coal mining operations at the site including a history of <br />the review of the permit application, <br />b) a description of the environment affected by the operation <br />c) and a description of the mining and reclamation plan <br />3) the written findings of compliance the Division has made as required by the <br />Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act. <br />Detailed information concerning the findings of compliance can be found in the Regulations <br />of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining. <br />The Division has received an application for a permit to conduct coal loadout and <br />reclamation operations at the HG Loadout. The application was submitted by Hayden <br />Gulch Terminal, Inc. and the loadout is leased to and will be operated by Peabody Coal <br />Company. The mine is located on state and private lands within Routt County, Colorado <br />(see Figure 1) and can be located on the Mount Harris U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 Minute <br />Map.
