He was concerned by the lack of storm runoff control at the
ore Stockpile and loadout area near the river. I assured him that I
would contact you concerning this matter.
As I recall our conversation of October 18 when I visited the quarry,
you mentioned that the crusher ie to be moved to the permitted area at
the mine site. Upon examination of the permit, I find that Flintkote's
mining and reclamation permit did not include the stockpile area. Under
the provisions of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Act, this area
must be part of the permitted acreage.
Since this addition would increase the affected acreage and the bond
amount, an amendment to the permit should ba obtained by Flintkote. The
amendment should speak to runoff control during the life of the mine and
reclamation of the additional affected acres at the sad of mining. I
would like to speak with you about tl~la matter at your earliest convenience,
My phone number is 839-3567. I am aura we can resolve this matter in the
near future.
Sincerely,
Mark S. Loye
Reclamation Specialist
MSL/fig
