Box 591 <br />Somerset, CO 81434 <br />Re: Aest Elk Mine (Permit No. C-BO-007); Transmittal of Larry and <br />Elaine Mautz Damaqe Complaint Letter <br />Dear Mr. Every: <br />On July 15, 1996 we received a damage complaint letter from Larry <br />and Elaine Mautz covering the issues that we discussed during our <br />visit to the Mautz's cabin on June 12, 1996. In addition, the <br />Mautz's have expressed a new complaint concerning damage to two <br />roads (as described in the attached letter). <br />Enclosed please find a copy of the damage complaint letter. As we <br />discussed in our telephone conversation today, the Division <br />requests that a representative of West Elk Mine be present during <br />the inspection of the roads. I have arranged a meeting with the <br />Mautz's at their ranch, for Wednesday July 24, 1996 at 9:00 a.m. <br />We will then proceed to the location of the damaged roads for <br />inspection. <br />If you have any questions or concerns regarding this letter please <br />contact me. <br />Sincerely, <br />Michael P.
