The citizen had complained that haul trucks from the Bowie
No. 2 Mine were spreading coal dust as they traveled to and from the Bowie No. l loadout. The
Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) sent to Bowie Resources a letter, dated May 26, 1998,
expressing concerns about this coal dust issue. You received a copy of that letter. Bowie
Resources responded to the DMG's concerns in a letter dated June 12, 1998. As a reply, DMG
sent a letter to Bowie Resources dated June 24, 1998. Both of these letters have been attached to
this letter.
The citizen who provided the initial complaint has received copies of these letters. The citizen
wishes to remain anonymous at this time. DMG will keep you informed when anything new
develops. If you have any questions, please call me or my new senior, Larry Routten.
Sincerely,
o~ p
seph J.
