(Page 2) MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1996-031 INSPECTION DATE 6-7-2002 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSiS OBSERVATIONS 'this was a partial inspection conducted at the operator's request to evaluate recent grading and slope reduction that has been performed to reduce the reclamation liabiliiy for the site. All highwalls on the North, east and eastern two-thirds of the south highwall have been reduced to slope grades of 3H:1 V or less. Topsoil from the stockpiles has been replaced on the east third of the south pit slope and piles of topsoil have been placed by loader on the remalning pit slopes that have been graded to final slopes. A bulldozer was spreading the topsoil on these slopes during this inspection. The pit floor is being left as a graveled pad for stockpiling and facilities area for future mining. The previous inspection report for of this site noted that topsoil piles were lacking stabil¢ing vegetative cover. After regrading and topsoil placement on the pit slopes is completed, gypsum at a rate of 1 ton per acre will need to be incorporated into the topsoil on the pit slopes. Seeding with the whfte clover cover crop and mulching of the regraded pit slopes and remaining topsoil plies will need to take place. This seetlfng will need to be completed between October 15, 2002 and November 15, 2002. Documentation of the gypsum application and seeding must be submitted to DMG prior to November 29, 2002. This documentation must include seed tags, receipts or scale tickets for the gypsum and photographs of the seed and gypsum applications. This information will resolve the currentty unresolved problem noted in the previous inspection report. The correction date for that problem is now set for November 29, 2002. The reclamation cost estimate update included with the previous inspection report has been revised to account for the pit slope reduction and topsoil placement observed during this inspection revised~copy enclosed. The amount of this required financial warranty indicates that the current financial warranty is now adequate to ensure reclamation of this site.
