The shot was in the 8050 Pit in a small ledge of rock just above <br />coal on November 9, 1982 at 5:30 p.m. <br />The shot was located on the pit floor below the 8050 and was still being dril- <br />led when we started loading. Before the drilling was completed, the drill went down <br />and couldn't finish the pattern. As soon as the drill was repaired, the pattern was <br />completed, loaded and shot. <br />All the standard warnings were given prior to the blast. Leaving partially load- <br />ed shot that close to the dragline would have presented a safety hazard which would have <br />made it necessary to shut the machine down until the next morning. <br />Sincerely, <br />cc: B.
