<br />reclaimed the ponds and associated drainage structures covering 14 acres in February and March of <br />1991. <br />During 1992, all of the remaining sediment control structures were reclaimed, as approved per <br />Technical Revision No. 12. The associated surface disturbances were then topsoiled, resulting in <br />reclamation of all material stockpiles. As such, all disturbances have been reclaimed and have been <br />topsoiled and reseeded. <br />Kaiser Steel Resources applied for Phase II Bond Release in November, 1992. The application was <br />found incomplete on November 24, 1992. On June 25, 1993 and August 2~, 1993, Kaiser Resources <br />(as a result of a corporate name change) submitted additional information regarding the Phase II Bond <br />Release request. After discussing the submittals with Division personnel regarding their <br />incompleteness, Kaiser Resources withdrew its request for Phase ll Bond Release on September l7, <br />1993. <br />On April 22, 1993, Kaiser Steel Resources submitted an application for a permit revision (PR-O1) to <br />reduce the mine permit azea and consolidate the mine permit documents. During the Division review <br />of this document, Kaiser Steel Resources, Inc. become Kaiser Resources, Inc. On September 19, 1993, <br />the Division proposed approval of Permit Revision No. 1. Final approval occurred on October 1, 1993 <br />following the end of the public comment period. <br />Due to limited success of woody plants and warm season grasses, inter-seeding of 60 acres of <br />reclaimed areas was conducted in May 1993. Portions of the inter-seeded areas were fenced for <br />protection from livestock grazing. <br />A second request for a Phase II bond release for the mine site was found complete by the Division on <br />September 26, 1996. Based on the information submitted in the application and field inspection the <br />Divison approved this bond release on November 27, 1996. As a result of this bond release, the <br />required liability was reduced to $38,000.00. <br />7 <br />
