Cox ~~
DATE: March 11, 1982
RE: Senica Mine, File #C-005-81 /,~
G~
Norm Neilson of Peabody Coal called at 2:.45 P.M, on March 10, 1982 to inform
me that Alluvial well GWS-31 collapsed at the Senica Mine. He will be out
at the site next week to survey the situation.
Several weeks of water level and chemistry data may be lost until a new hole is
drilled and a monitoring well developed. This should not be a problem as long
as the replacement well is installed close to the collapsed well and installed in
a timely manner. Monitoring well G[/5-31 is one of the wells mentioned in
stipulation b13 to the Senica permit. Check with Norm Neilson in two weeks on
the status of the well replacement.
cc: Dave Shelton
Dave Craig ~ •-
ys
> t,, 1.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
