DEPT, OF M1ATURAL RESOURCES
RE: Request for extension of deadline stated in February 23, 1981
Inspection Report of Northern Coal Company facilities, File
No. C-032-81.
Dear Mike:
As per our conversation last week, I request an extension of the
compliance dates as they refer to the seeding of embankments and
topsoil stockpiles at the refuse area, and the reseeding of the
topsoil stockpile at the Wilson Loadout. The date for compliance
specified in the inspection report was April 15, 1981, for both
areas. I feel that this date will not allow for unforeseeable delay
caused by snow or mud. Our seeding program is set up to commence
at the earliest opportunity allowed by snow storms, snow melt, and
mud, and awaiting the part of the Spring planting season with the
highest survival success ratio. Therefore, I request a more flexible
time limitation. Those familiar with the planting schedules used
in this area in the past have suggested late April and early May as
the best time spans to expect optimum conditions for and results from
Spring seeding. I expect that seedings will be completed by May 15,
1981, unless unforeseeable delays occur.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience as to your decision
concerning this request. If you have any questions, please do not
hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
~CSra>Q~
Diane L.
