King to sign and stamp the survey maps he generated for ~
Vermont Marble in the 1960's. It turns out that "Seab" was very active in the Colorado State
Professional Land Surveyors organization. He designed the stamps and seals surveyors use in
Colorado to stamp and sign they work. He is 84 now and his hearing is not so good, but he is
f~' 1 still very sharp.
~(,~ '~N~1JJ~ ' Enclosed aze copies of a number of maps. OMYA had sent me Seab's 100 scale map in 1988 and
~ I used it for reference for my 1988 survey. Seab's old company, Valley Surveying had the original
,~JJ~,: ofthis map. Valley also had a 40 scale map ofthe quarry entry azea. Seab signed and sealed both
`i maps when I met with him yesterday.
I had drawn 30 scale maps for CYMC's road building work in 1990 for quarry access road from
the tourist pazking azea to the quarry. These are a set of three maps that fit together. These maps
are not "as built" drawings. They show some facilities along the road that have been located
elsewhere. However the road alignment from the tourist pazking area to the quarry portal is very
close to the final alignment (within 10 feet or so). The road from the portal to the upper entries
was not built as shown on the maps, but is much steeper and shorter.
I have enclosed 2 copies of all of the maps. I think you will find the maps from CYMC's 1988
survey aze within a pencil width or so of Seab's work.
I hope this gives you more comfort that the work CYMC did in 1988 is quite accurate.
Regards,
Rex E. Loesby
President
