The wood
surrounding community may tend to encroach o
Community. This plan will ensure long term
maintenance of the Dry Meadow reference area.
Plan
~II ~I~II~II~II~~II~
999
is surrounded by
y plants in this
n the Dry Meadow
woody plant free
This plan proposes that four photographic points be established
within the Dry Meadow reference area in such a way, as to view
the total area. (See map). These photographs will allow an
year-to-year comparison to determine woody species encroachment.
Methods
In September of each year, a 35 mm camera will be placed on a
post at each of the four (4) photo points. Pictures will be
taken North, South, East and West. Four photographs from each
location within the reference area should provide sufficient
record to determine woody encroachment.
If shrubs begin to invade the Meadow they can be removed by one
of four methods.
1) Mechanical-saws-shovels, prunning tools, etc.
2) Chemical-by use of any approved herbicide.
3) Fire-small localized burns on individual plants.
4) Combination of above is needed.
