In conclusion, this <br />report shows that mining and railroad activities al the Deserado coal mine have <br />little effect on this breeding falcon pair since they were introduced to an <br />artificial neat box habitat. Kestrel falcons successfully nested and fledged <br />young within 50 meters of an active conveyor loadout and railroad maintenance <br />building. It is hoped that the adults will fledge young next year so that the U.S. <br />Fish and R'ildlife Service will be able to band the falcons and therefore provide <br />home range and migratory data on these birds. <br />
