The reclamation of Area 6 covers 137.1 acres of the 520 acre
pasture. A minor revision which allowed grazing was approved September 11,
1984.
CYCC plans to graze the pasture for two weeks early to mid July and again for
two to three weeks in early September.
Based upon 1986 vegetation analysis, the 23.0 acre parcel has a production
rate of 2,284 lbs/acre. The 114.1 acre parcel produces 1,913 lbs/acre.
Using these production values in conjunction with production values for the
adjoining pasture, sagebrush and aspen (see table), approximately 360,376
pounds of forage are available in the 520 acre pasture.
CYCC will be grazing steers on the pasture. Using a AUM rate of 640 pounds of
forage per month, the pasture is capable of supporting 563 AUM's. CYCC
proposes to use a conservative rate of 500 AUM's for the four to five week
grazing season.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
COLtcJ~
Richard Mills
Senior Environmental Engineer
RAM/jg
