Lamm
Governor
June 7, 1983
Mr. Jerome F. Gamba '
Consulting Engineer
P.O. Box 1458
Glenwood Springs, Colorado 81601
RE: Zemlock and Son, Inc. Permit No. 81-207
Dear Mr. Gamba:
The Division reviewed your annual report submitted March 24, 1983 and
after reviewing the file there appears to be some discrepancies on what
was presented in this report and what was approved by the Mined Land
Reclamation Board. Because of these differences, the Division felt this
letter in reply to your annual report was necessary. Please respond to
the following points in a timely manner.
1. The maximum disturbance at any one time, which was the basis for the
$12,800.00 bond, was 20.5 acres (i.e., 3 acres major, 11.5 acres moderate,
and 6 acres minor disturbances). The annual report stated disturbance was
21.3 acres. The operator needs to either increase the bond amount to cover
the additional disturbed acres or reclaim some acres to bring it back to
the maximum allowed disturbance of 20.5 acres.
4. The seed mixture approved by the Board for this area is as follows.
Species
pubescent wheatgrass
intermediate wheatgrass
crown vetch
Pounds PLS per Acre
9
6
3
18
The seed mixture used on the topsoil stockpile was not approved by the
Board. The operator needs to submit a technical revision to the permit
to address the seed mixture used on the topsoil stockpile.
If you have any questions, please call.
inc el y, r~
Pe er V. onnor
Reclamation Specialist
PVOC/eap
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
