ALE%ANDE R, PM.D. <br />August 3, 1982 <br />Mr, Fred Danta, Director <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />423 Centennial Bldg, <br />1313 Sherman St. <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />re: A request for a review of the current operation <br />permit of GEX and/or Powderhorn Coal Corporation <br />due to the severe surface subsidence caused by <br />their mining. <br />A request to deny any additional mine permits until <br />such time as the subsidence problems associated <br />with current and past mining are resolved. <br />A request that all subsidence reports be made available <br />to the surface land owners. <br />A request to deny any additional mine permits until <br />satisfactoz•y plans are submitted for future waste <br />disposal. <br />Dear Mr. Banta: <br />I am the land owner of approximately 210 acres under <br />which the Powderhorn Coal Company is now mining. For over <br />Two .years we have been trying to negotiate with the operators <br />of the mine to prevent the subsidence which is taking place, <br />I feel they have been less than honest with us regarding the <br />areas they are mining and the subsidence that is occurring. <br />I object to the "Confidential" classification of the <br />subsidence reports which have been filed by GEX and Western <br />Coal Corporation to your office. Certainly these should be <br />made available to the surface owners of the lands involved, <br />~,A/ <br />
