Twenty cover
transects were initially sampled. Minimum sample size is reported on Table 2.
Statistical Analysis
Evaluation of revegetation establishment and success was accomplished through a
comparison of the reclaimed area mean total vegetative cover with the reclamation
success standazd set forth in the CDMG findings document. A "T" test was used for the
statistical comparison. This is consistent with the recommendations of the Division of
Minerals and Geology in their 1988 Guidelines for Compliance with Land Use and
Vegetation Requirements of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal
M1ninE. Analysis of quantitative relative cover data derived from quantitafive total cover
information provided the basis for assessment of species composition.
Revegetation Success Standards
Cover: 41
Production: 514 lbs/acre (air dry weight)
Shrub Density: 0
Species Diversity: At least three perennial grass species, each contributing at least
3%, but not greater than 60% relative cover. At least one of these
species will be a warm season grass and at least one shall be a cool
season grass.
