III. Bonding
The bond for the Southfield ~4ine was reviewed and recalculated by the Division
using the MORD bond calculation manual. In general the bond is complete and
well done. Southfield bond is currently E1,100,000. The bond is sufficient
to cover reclamation cost. Since there is no surplus in the current bond any
future modification or revision increasing the reclamation costs would require
an increase in the bond amount.
IV. General Permit Application Organization
The application lacks a good table of contents. The first volume should
contain the table of contents for all the volumes and each volume should
contain its own table of contents. Any changes or modifications to the
application should be updated in the table of contents.
2. All modifications, revisions and added pages to the application should be
numbered with supplemental numbers and the date the page is revised
should be clearly marked.
3. Stipulation responses should be incorporated into the application as
application text. The stipulations and responses currently in the
application do not reflect the current stipulations to the permit.
4. All maps should be given unique sequential numbers to facilitate their
location and replacement.
5. The application should reflect the current status of the mine. The
technical revision approved in December of 1986 should be incorporated
into the application. A revised permit boundary map, mine plan map and
legal description should be submitted for insertion into the application.
/vj r
7109E
-8-
