Land
Exchange
Dear Mr. Shafer:
The State of Colorado, Department of Parks and Outdoor Recreation (DPOR) and Nalco, lnc.
have agreed to exchange property. The DPOR is giving exchanging approximately 84.25
acres of land to Nalco for 30.34 acres of its land. Both parcels of land lay north of the Arkansas
river immediately west of the Nature Center. The trade is contingent on "Nalco having actually
received all necessary Federal, State, County or local permits to mine sand and gravel on the
subject property".
DPOR/Valco ask that the Board of County Commissioners determine the land trade is not for
subdivision purposes and request that the trade be exempted from the Pueblo Count~Subdivision
Rekulations and further requests a waiver of the applicable fees.
DPOR/Valco are submitting with this letter a Map Amendment Application to change the zoning
on the parcels to reflect the trade.
Nalco is also submitting an amendment to SUP No. 479 (Amended) to delete the properly
received by DPOR and to add the property received by Nalco.
DPOR/Valco ask that the approvals all be done at the same time and be made contingent on tlTe
trade occurring. IFthe trade does not occur the County would rescind the items.
Thank you for your help in making this application.
Sincerely,
Nalco, Inc.
Thomas E.
