David Berry - 3 - October 23, 1995 <br />Additional monitoring data is presented on the five enclosed <br />tables. The data indicates that wells H-10 and B-6 have been <br />degraded through contact with the B-Seam coal. For example, the B- <br />Seam coal contains soluble sodium and the water in H-10 and B-6 has <br />elevated concentrations of sodium. The same correlation is true, <br />but to a lessor extent, for calcium and magnesium. <br />Since the geochemical characteristics of PBR's and Bear's B-Seam <br />coal are similar, one would expect the water in the B-Seam aquifer <br />to undergo similar degradation.
