If you recall, I caL'cd you socct:n;c ba... aiid talked abGat
the conversions and at time you mentioned that it would not be possible.
Would you please examine both proposals to see if it is even possible to convert. I a
told by Don Koehn, Road Supv that this is possible. 1 guess he has spoken with Ira
who is on the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board.
Proposal #1 would be to combine \Valker Pit North and Walker Pit South , which ar about
seven (7) miles apart. My question rs how do you determine the acreage on such a co version?
Would [measure both sides of the creek bank to find the correct acreage? On such c -
version we have a school section between the two pits and how would I split the app ation?
Proposal #2 The Bernard Nine Pit is to be convcrta'. iiitG on la:gcr ono going s:;uihv: st from
existing pit about three miles. The t:ind from what I am told now belongs to a Randy haw and
has agreed to allow the county to permit the whole azea. Again, my question is do I d the
very same thing on this conversion as the one mentioned above?
Jim , I would appreciate any assistance that you might give uic uu ihcac ,,,niic~a. i nw
to start on the conversions and I want to be sure that I am going in the right direction.
Thank you very much for you assisumce.
S yryly~
!~'/'
