Contemporaneous Reclamation <br />Subelement: Not applicable <br />Population size: There are 51 inspectable units in Colorado. <br />Sample size: There are 11 inspectable units in Colorado which will be reviewed for <br />contemporaneous reclamation. They are the Colowyo Mine, Edna Strip, Trapper <br />Mine, Hamilton Mine and Seneca II-W Mine, Golden Eagle, Bear Mines, East Side, <br />Tomahawk Strip, Red Capyon, and Seneca II. <br />Basis for review: <br />Routine cyclical in-depth review <br />Inspection or site visit findings <br />Analysis of State or Tribal data or documents routinely <br />supplied to the Field Office <br />Public concern <br />Action plan problem or previously identified unresolved <br />problem <br />Action plan follow-up (to verify implementation of <br />tentative resolutions) <br />X National priority <br />_ Other [specify] <br />Review scope and methodology: Colorado regulations at section 2.05.4 require the <br />operator to supply a "detailed timetable for the completion of each major step in <br />the reclamation plan." The permit application package of each selected sample will <br />be reviewed to evaluate the reclamation timetable. <br />Time and distance standards are presented in the performance standards at <br />Section 4.14 which states that the rough backfilling and grading will occur within 60 <br />days and will not be more than 1500 linear feet behind the pit. OSM will conduct <br />inspections of the above referenced inspectable units to determine compliance with <br />this performance standard and with the approved reclamation plan. The <br />inspections will necessitate travel to each of the listed inspectable units. Travel to <br />the offices of DMG in Denver, Colorado may also be necessary. <br />
