R~:~r--1,Jr: :
March 1, 1994
MAR 0 3 1994
~~; .,~,
Mr. Joe Dudash
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street, Rouen 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
RE: Water Level Measurements From Tatum Well -Golden Eagle Mine, Permit C-81-013
Dear Mr. Dudash:
As requested by Mr. Ralph Lopez of Basin Resources, Inc., we probed the Tatum windmill
well located adjacent to the Santistevan Canyon Exhaust Fan Site during the quarterly water
monitoring conducted on February 23, 1994. Mr. Lopez indicated that you two had
examined the well and found the inner pump casing to be 46.7 feet in depth from the top
of the inner casing which was 59.5 inches above the ground surface and was dry. Our
examination was consistent with your measurements. He also indicated that your
measurements of the outside casing were 166.3 feet deep from the top of the outside casing
which was 14 inches above the ground surface and your water level measurement was
inconclusive. We measured the total depth of the outside casing at 153 feet and the static
water level at 114 feet below the top of the casing. Our measurements were made with a
Solinst 101 water level meter.
Should you have questions concerning these measurements, please do not hesitate to let me
know.
Sincerely,
~~~ ~~~
Jerry Koblitz
Principal
cc: Ralph Lopez -Basin Resources, Inc.
5990 Greenwood Plaza Blvd. Suite 250 Englewood, CO 80111
(303) 850-0930 Fax (303) 721-9298
