Attached is the Division's Mid-Term Review for the Bowie Mine No.
1. The review is conducted every 2 and 1/2 years in fulfillment of
Rules 2.08.3 and 3.02.2(4). Please review the document carefully
and respond to any requests for revisions or other information
within the allotted timeframes.
The mid-term review consists primarily of reviewing the permit
application, the findings document, field inspection reports,
recent revisions, phased bond releases, and the bonding document.
The main purpose of this review is to identify any areas of
operations or permitting that may be out of compliance with the
Colorado Surface Coal Mining and Reclamation Act.
The Division is requesting that the mine submit two technical
revisions to the permit to incorporate updated material that is
being requested as part of this review. The details of what the
revisions are and the justifications for requesting the revisions
are contained in section II and IV. Both revisions should be
submitted by no later than March 31, 1996.
