This position should not be interpreted
as a negative opinion concerning the hydrologic study data
and results. Within the last six months, I have contacted
the U.S.G.S. four times requesting information from their
studies regarding aquifer tests, water quality, overburden
mineralogic data, and well completions. In all cases,
they provided this information which Peabody was not able
to obtain through their own monitoring. The data provided
are proving quite helpful in our rewrite of the
Hydrological Description and Probable Hydrologic
Consequences tabs of the Seneca II-W PAP. It is our hope
that these types of studies will be able to continue even
though we are presently not able to help finance them.
Cordially,

H. Theodore Smith
Senior Hydrologist
cam. - ~y~-
1300 Soutn Vale
kjs
