Heffner - 3 - May 6, 1985 <br />Amending the fines as described may increase the water-holding <br />capacity and nutrient-supply, thereby facilitating, and possibly <br />promoting, reclamation success. <br />Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs <br />1. The estimates provided assume the "worst case situation". The <br />following considerations would make the situation even worse; <br />please detail these costs and include in a revised "TOTAL ESTIMATED <br />COST": <br />a. Backfilling to an average depth of approximately 20 feet (as <br />illustrated in the "Sand Pit Cross-Sections: Existing vs <br />Reclamation") over the entire affected area; and <br />b. mulching over entire area, if not presently included in the <br />revegetation estimates. <br />2. Please state which type of Financial Warranty you've chosen, such <br />that the appropriate forms may be sent. <br />After reviewing the "Sand Pit" file, it was brought to my attention that the <br />most recent map in our possession outlining disturbance and reclamation <br />(annual report map) is dated 1979. Please provide a map delineating the <br />current disturbed and reclaimed acreages; this may be submitted with the May, <br />1985 annual report. <br />Please respond to this letter at your earliest convenience, preferably prior <br />to June 19, 1985. <br />The amendment is scheduled to be presented to the Board at the June meeting to <br />be held from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on June 25, 1985, and from 8:00 a.m. <br />until the end of the agenda on June 26, 1985.
