Box 915
J/ , ~ > Gunnison, CO 81230
December 19, 2005 / Gi=g ~ 2 2005
Deaz Cooperators: Division of tJlirarals and Geology
It was with both excitement and a heavy heart that I submitted a letter of resignation as Gunnison
County Weed Coordinator to the Board of County Commissioners. My resignation will be
effective on or about February 10, 2006.
My husband was hired as the Assistant Field Manager for the Buffalo Field Office in Buffalo,
Wyoming. We are very excited about the new opportunities this brings to both of our careers.
It is my intent to wrap up ongoing work activities (2005) and continue to prepare for 2006 until
my departure. My goal is to have the 2005 Annual Report completed prior to leaving. There are
also several grants and projects that I am working on for 2006 with other cooperators. I will
attempt to have all of those written and/or organized prior to my departure. The County works
with an outstanding goup of Cooperators and I hope this working relationship continues for
many years to come.
When the County is ready to advertise the position, I will assist with outreach to help get as many
qualified applicants as possible. It is my hope that they will have a replacement hired prior to my
departure so I can train them and provide a review of the program. If they are unable to do this, I
will make myself available through my consulting business to come back and work with the new
Weed Coordinator as needed. I will leave appropriate instructions along with my email address
and new telephone number for the new coordinator and all Cooperators.
Finally, I would like to thank all of the Cooperators and their employees for their support
throughout the past I S years. The program has grown and we have made great strides toward
noxious weed education and management. There is still work to be done and the new
Coordinator will accomplish it with your continued cooperation and support.
In closing, since we developed this program in 1991, it has been recognized both nationally and
in Colorado. In short, I love my job and thank the Gunnison Board of County Commissioners
and each of the Cooperators for having given me this opportunity.
l.~ ~ X01 IJ~RG~
Adena L.
