COAL FUELS CORPORATION III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
LOS LAGOS RANCH, P.O. BOX IJO
ROLLINS\'ILLE. COLORADO 80474
PHONE: 30J-629-0431
March 7, 1991
Mined Land Reclamation Division
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Gentlemen:
m
~E~E11/ED
PAAR G 8 lgg~
Mined Land
Reclamation Division
On Thursday, February 28, 1991, Alfred G. and Damaris S. Hoyl met with Randall
Price of MLRD and Earl Madden representing American Shield Coal Company at the mine
site or entry benches of the Anchor Tresner Coal Unit north of Fruits, Colorado, in the
Book Cliffs Coal Field.
The purpose of the meeting was to inspect the reclamation work done on behalf of
American Shield Coal Company and its predecessors and partners by Greg Lewicki and
Earl Madden as required by MLRD.
The record should show that we, the present owners and lessees, had little input in
the reclamation plan and our needs and plans for the project were not considered.
As to the reclamation as completed, we strongly urge that the transition section of
road to the Upper Cameo bench be widened and improved. As it now exists, it is dangerous
and hazardous and not acceptable to the owners and lessees.
It is also desired that the southern boundary fence which is on fee land owned by
Hoyls be removed.
In addition, the monitoring wells on the federal leases are to be rehabilitated.
Sincere) ,
AI ed G.
