;` ~, <br />~... , . <br />,,~. _ . <br />1`~ 1yt~~ Supplementary Report On "Bone" Material from Dorchester Mine <br />~`' ~r.~l <br />,~;_ <br />CM01~~~rp~. ~'~ P.~~~ ~ The "bone" material from the mine site tested consisted of several <br />large carbonized fragments of approximately 5 cm in diameter. The sample <br />was ground to pass through an 80 mesh sieve. For this xeason, particle , <br />size distribution and saturation percentage were not determined. Electri- <br />cal conductivity pH, sodium, calcium, magnesium and sodium adsorption <br />ratio were determined from a saturated water paste and extract, and the <br />other elements were determined from an ammonium bicarbonate-DTPA extract. <br />In general, the chemical constituents of the material are quite low <br />with respect to concentration; however, the iron concentration is noticeable <br />but not unreasonable. There was essentially no iron detected in the <br />water extract. Organic matter content is high, and the pH is near <br />neutrality. <br />Submitted by: <br />D. F.
