Committee on Mining & the I:mlironment met to provide a forum <br />tier dialogue between concerned Geld Bill residents, momhers of the ComrniHce. <br />anJ a representative of COM, Inc., operators of the Guld Hill mill. <br />Opening remarks were ollercd by R. Mason, Cununiltee chairman. He <br />identilied four main categories of effort required to achieve meaningful results. <br />'t'hese were: <br />o Goak <br />o Challenges <br />o Current Slalus <br />o Action flan <br />Dialogue proceeded in loose accord with this framework. A numher of <br />general and specific goals were identified during the discussion. In lhe.order they <br />were presented Ihese were: • <br />o Reclaim old dumps at a profit <br />o Stimulate higher Slate standards fur mining reclamation <br />o Improve working relationships with the community <br />o Make money while making a difference <br />o Maintain ii~cus <br />o Development and submission of nvcrdl operating plan to town <br />
