RE: Release of Permitted Acreage Sold to San Miguel County,
Hawks/Shaffer Pit, File No. M-88-037
Dear Ms. Gray:
On April 15, 1993 the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
approved conversion of San Miguel County's Norwood Pit (File No.
M-81-154) from a Limited Impact (110(2)) type operation to a
Regular (112) type operation. The conversion application
incorporates lands, known as the Shaffer Pit, currently permitted
by Skelton, Inc., into the San Miguel County permit. In order to
secure release of the Shaffer Pit acreage, Skelton, Inc. must
submit to the Division an accurate map of the land that will remain
under the Skelton, Inc. Permit No. M-88-037.
The accurate map of the affected lands shall:
(a) Be made by a professional land surveyor, professional
engineer, or other qualified person;
(b) Identify the permit area boundaries;
(c) Identify the locations for the boundary markers required
by Rule 6.7 of the Mineral Rules and Regulations and as a
result of the inspection of this pit conducted on September
30, 1993. A description of the type of boundary markers
installed should also be included.
(d) Be made to a scale of not less than one hundred feet to
the inch and not more than six hundred sixty feet to the inch;
(ej Identify the locations of all topsoil and product
stockpiles, roads, and mined out areas;
(f) Note Total acreage remaining under permit.
