Box 307
Holly, CO 81047-1047
Dear Ms. Neumeister,
'/JUL 2 ~ 2007
Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
It has been brought to ow attention that you are operating the Potts Pit #2 located in Section 4 of Township
27 South, Range 66 West. We also understand that you are obtaining a DRMS 112 permit for continuation and
expansion of the existing operations.
Our review indicates that the land where this gravel pit is located was patented under the Stock Raising
Homestead Act of 1916 which resulted in a reservation of minerals to the United States. We have enclosed a
map of the gravel pit along with a master title plat overlain showing the mineral reservation.
We will need to conduct an inspection of the site and an opportunity to discuss the site with you in the next
45 days. Please contact Dan Grenard of my staff at (719) 269-8500 to arrange for a mutually agreeable date
for this inspection and discussion.
Sincerely,
1
~~
Roy~Masinton
Field Manager
Royal Gorge Field Office
