Near the subject property, Willow Creek has no
designated flood hazard or floodplain azeas per the National Flood Insurance Program
(NFIP). This is according to the Douglas County Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM),
' Community Panel 080049 0310 C, revised September 30, ] 987.
1 However, it is our understanding per County staff that basins over 130 acres in size are
subject to the County's floodplain ordinance. The floodplain ordinance requirements wil]
affect final design of the Willow Creek access road crossing.
' Detailed NFIP study and floodplain delineation of Willow Creek begins some two miles
downstream of the Castle Rock Quarry per the cited FIRM. Our reseazch found no other
known planning studies or master plans for Willow Creek.
Hydrologic calculations were previously developed for Willow Creek by Tuttle
Applegate, Inc. T}us was for inclusion of Willow Creek crossing information in the
application to the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) for a Regular
Operations (112) Yennit in 1989.

Cherry Creek has NFIP floodplain delineation according to the same FIRM cited above
for Willow Creek. Pertinent study information shows that detailed study of the
' floodplain has not extended this faz south, however. Our research specifically included
review of the Douglas Couni Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and 'Flood Plain
Information, Cherry Creek, Cherry Creek Lake Through Franktown, Colorado" prepared
r
s of En
ine
rs in 1976
b
th
C
p
g
.
y
e
o
e
